Overview

A great golf story is about to be told at Royal Isabela. Located on a spectacular oceanfront tract in northwestern Puerto Rico, Royal Isabela is a private golf club and residential community designed with respect for the land and the game's honorable traditions.

Location

Royal Isabela enjoys a prime location within the Costa Isabela community in the municipality of Isabela, Puerto Rico. Costa Isabela borders the Atlantic Ocean and features an oceanfront stretch of more than 3.5 miles. Its 1,800 pristine acres also include nearly five miles of Guajataca River basin.

Isabela, named in honor of Queen Isabela I of Spain in 1819, is known as El Jardin del Noroeste (the Garden of the Northwest) for its wildflowers, butterflies and farms. It was home to the Taino Indians (the Arawak) when the Spaniards landed on Puerto Rico in 1493.

Truly rich with scenic beauty, diversity of terrain, natural resources and warm culture, Puerto Rico also boasts an ideal Caribbean climate. Because Puerto Rico is part of the United States, travel to and from P.R. does not require passing through U.S. customs. Puerto Rico is served by two international airports at San Juan and Aquadilla. Royal Isabela is just 10 miles from Aquadilla and 73 miles from San Juan.

Residences

Royal Isabela will offer home sites and Fairway Villas. Home sites overlook the golf course and the ocean and range from approximately one to two acres. Each Fairway Villa provides over 1,500 square feet of living space and features two master suites, a covered terrace and a plunge pool.

The Club

The Club at Royal Isabela will be comprised of the Lodge (with 20 guest casitas), La Casa restaurant and library, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a pro shop and a spa and fitness center. An 18-hole links-style golf course, with numerous holes overlooking the ocean, is in operation. The property also includes an organic farm, a nursery (where indigenous plants for landscaping are grown), beach access and hiking/biking trails. The private club currently offers four membership levels: Founding, Resident, Priority and International. A calendar of sporting and social events for members and their families is planned.

Golf Course

Working in harmony with the land's natural contours and elevations, scenic Atlantic vistas and indigenous Puerto Rican flora, golf architect David W. Pfaff and founder brothers Charlie and Stanley Pasarell collaborated to create a links-style course that would challenge and inspire the golf purist. The course also features a practice facility. Royal Isabela successfully hosted its inaugural Golf Invitational in December 2009.

In Development

The Pro Shop and Gate House are scheduled to open in December 2010. Royal Isabela will open La Casa restaurant and the Lodge casitas in 2011.
