Royal Isabela is blessed with a landscape rich in diversity that encompasses craggy cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, shoreline sand dunes, fresh water springs and creeks, and undulating grasslands. Within these areas, varying microclimates support rare and native species. We are committed to protecting this beautiful and dramatic land as a legacy for future generations.
The heart of Royal Isabela’s conservation efforts is El Pastillo Conservation Trust, which is charged with preserving for perpetuity the unique ecosystems found along El Pastillo Beach, adjacent land and the surrounding cliffs. The Trust’s four initiatives are to protect wildlife, conserve native flora and fauna, restore areas impacted by human activity and involve the public in the importance of ecology.
